In an audiophile bar filled with mood lighting and intimate seating, you will find “cosmic vegan vibrations” in the form of Om Sabor’s vegan menu. Om Sabor is a vegan restaurant owned by Mexican immigrants within Phonobar, a cocktail bar in Hayes Valley, San Francisco.

While this may veer from my typical content, I was too excited about Modesto’s newest addition to keep things to myself. As of October 17th, 2024, Modesto is now home to the “Be Anything Museum,” a collection of Barbies on display for public amusement.

This past week was my first-ever visit to Hawaii! An opportunity arose that I couldn’t ignore so I tied up loose ends at work and overpacked for my 6-hour flight (with 1 transfer) to The Big Island. I was invited to attend a Vegan Retreat hosted by Noah Hyams of Vegpreneur and Gaby Aziz of Heart Core Hotels. The retreat was held at Heart Core Hotels’ Volcano Eco Retreat in Hilo.
