Santa’s new favorite jerky is plant-based, and will no doubt soon be added to your wish list… at least this is what I imagine Mrs. Claus has awaiting Santa upon his return Christmas morning- All Y’alls Jerky and a chilled IPA.

All Y’alls Foods is based in Texas, the “beef capital of the world”, but founder Brett Christoffel is on a mission to change that. Founded in 2018, All Yall’s Foods has since produced Amazon’s #1 selling vegan Bacony Bits, and 4 flavors of plant-based jerky- the newest flavor being Cinnamon Churro.

I was asked if I would sample the new Big Bend Country flavor ‘Cinnamon Churro’ and I said “Yee-Haw”! (actually, I probably said “Heck yes”, but that’s because I’m from California) You may be thinking Churros and Jerky don’t mix, but after tasting this hearty snack you’ll beg to differ. Tender, juicy jerky meets bold flavor that unexpectedly works. This jerky is not tough and dry, but rather soft and chewy offering a more enjoyable jerky experience than other brands I’ve tried. Smoky cinnamon meets sweet cane sugar that is baked in, instead of coated on. My immediate reaction was mild confusion as my brain and tastebuds tried to make sense of the unfamiliar flavor and texture combination. After a few chews, I was hooked and my bag was gone soon after shooting. The flavor of churros or cinnamon toast is ever prevalent but the mess isn’t, and the enjoyable chew of jerky is a strange but perfect vessel. I surprised myself by being so hooked on this flavor, and cannot wait to share my take on the rest of All Y’alls Foods goodies in another post coming soon.
