I am a Candy Corn lover.

I have been searching for a vegan alternative since I discovered the candy was not vegan-friendly many moons ago. Candy corn isn’t traditionally vegan, as it is commonly made with honey, gelatin, beeswax, and/or confectioner’s glaze. Pair this with the fact that many people dislike the treat, and we have an unfilled demand for mass-produced vegan candy corn.

At this time, vegan candy corn is a treat that can only be ordered from independent confectioners. This year I was introduced to Clever Fox Confections, a confectioner who is also a long-time vegan and just as candy-corn obsessed! Using 100% vegan and primarily organic ingredients, this fox whips up small batches of handmade Vegan Candy Corn and Mellocreme Pumpkins. I ordered some to taste in early September, and then after I fell in love I ordered a bunch more! I am hooked!

I don’t know how this clever fox does it, but she nails the taste and texture of traditional candy corn without the cruelty. Sweet and sticky like honey, melty and chewy like marshmallows, this is the nostalgic taste of candy corn and mellocreme pumpkins that I remember.
