Recently All Y’alls Foods sent me a sampling of their products, and I have slowly been making my way through each variety.
For a recap- All Y’alls Food is based in Texas, the “beef capital of the world”, but founder Brett Christoffel is on a mission to change that. Founded in 2018, All Yall’s Foods has since produced Amazon’s #1 selling vegan Bacony Bits, and 4 flavors of plant-based jerky. All Y’alls Foods also donates a portion of every purchase to a cattle ranch turned animal sanctuary, called Rowdy Girl.
All Y’alls Plant-Based Jerky is soft and chewy, rather than tough and dry like other brands I’ve tried. The jerky strips are tender and juicy, while the Bacony Bits are thin and crunchy. All Y’a’lls Foods uses non-GMO soybeans, is high in protein, and is also gluten-free.
I posted about the newest jerky flavor Cinnamon Churro last week to highlight its unveiling, and now I’m ready to share my take on the remaining line-up. Pictured I showcase some ways we can cook and pair All Y’alls snacks, in addition to just eating straight from the bag.
Below I give a short overview of each variety:
It’s Big Crunchy Bacony Bits Y’all– I used my Bacony Bits as a topping for my crispy baked potatoes- one of my favorite easy meals. These bits are smoky, with a touch of caramelly sweet.
It’s Jerky Y’all Black Pepper & Sea Salt- I loved the pinwheels I tried at VKX featuring All Y’alls Jerky, so I wanted to make them at home. This jerky is mouthwatering. It offers a punch of peppery heat with a touch of salt and is almost too hot for me. I found the Black Pepper & Sea Salt jerky made for the best pairing in my pinwheels, as the heat was balanced by the tart cranberries and tangy cheese.
It’s Jerky Y’all Prickly Pear Teriyaki– What better pairing than a prickly pear margarita? Actually, I made prickly pear lemonade, but you get the idea. I had a feeling this was going to be my favorite flavor and I was correct. Yes, I was drawn to the color of the bag, but the teriyaki flavor mixed with a hint of ginger has me salivating and reaching for more and more. Hands down my favorite of the lot.
It’s Jerky Y’all Prickly Pear Chipotle- I chopped some of these jerky slices and added them to a dairy-free quesadilla. They ended up mimicking steak strips and I will for sure be using this trick in the future. I was afraid of the heat element since Chipotle is in the name, but the sweet prickly pear flavor tames this jerky down to a delicate balance of firey hot with a tangy finish.
It’s Jerky Y’all Cinnamon Churro– Paired with a chilled IPA, perfect for Santa’s visit. Tender, juicy jerky meets bold flavor that unexpectedly works. This flavor offers a cinnamon bun and churro experience but it’s protein-packed jerky! It’s a wild ride for your tastebuds and surprisingly snackable.
You can find All Y’alls Foods on Amazon, AllYallsFoods.com, and at some physical shops listed at their online store locator. While the Cinnamon Churro flavor is not yet available for purchase, you can save 10% and be notified when it’s available by joining this waitlist.
