Vegan and gluten-free treats!
I found Gluten Gone Goodies while scrolling Instagram and was stoked to see that she offers a variety of vegan treats on her gluten-free menu. I placed a pickup order for cinnamon rolls (her specialty) and donut holes (my favorite)!
Founder Marissa Chavez started Gluten Free Goodies after discovering her treats were in demand beyond her own cravings. After cutting out gluten for health reasons and during pregnancy with her second child, she found it difficult to find gluten-free treats she craved. Thus began her journey and newfound passion for baking!
Marissa launched her celiac-safe CFO kitchen (Cottage Food Operation) in Riverbank in 2025, and it has been blossoming ever since! She offers a coveted holiday menu, has Farmers’ Market regulars, and was even featured on Good Day Sacramento soon after launching her business.
I tried her classic gluten-free + vegan cinnamon rolls and glazed sugar donut holes, and was blown away. Marissa shared that she spent a lot of trial and error perfecting her gluten-free dough. If she didn’t tell me these treats were gluten-free, I swear to gluten, you wouldn’t know it’s missing.
The cinnamon rolls are a hearty size (she said she wanted them comparable to Cinnabon’s) with thick, sweet vanilla icing and an ooey-gooey cinnamon-sugar center. The dough is a buttery bread base, perfect for soaking up the sugary sweetness of the topping and filling. When served warm, this cinnamon roll is a delightful and comforting experience. I shared these with family and friends, and everyone loved them as much as I did.
Now the donut holes, that’s a love story. I have always preferred donut holes to donuts, but when you’re vegan, it can sometimes be hard enough to find a whole donut, let alone its counterpart. When I saw Gluten Gone Goodies had these on her custom order menu, I knew I had to try them, and they did not disappoint! They’re the pop-able snack I remember: soft, spongy, sweet, and at no point did I miss the gluten. She fries them because it’s the “only way to get that true donut taste and soft center”. You can definitely taste the difference between baked and fried donuts, and I love that she is on board with frying them!

-Your Neighborhood Vegan on Gluten Gone Goodies
Gluten Gone Goodies specializes in gluten-free treats, but regularly offers vegan options at pop-ups and can make additional vegan and gluten-free treats upon request.
At pop-ups, you will typically find gluten-free and vegan cinnamon rolls, brownies (think grown-up “Cosmic Brownies”), and bread. However, Gluten Gone Goodies also makes cookies, donuts, donut holes, pretzels, crescent rolls, and more, so make sure you are following her on social media to stay up to date on her weekly menu and surprise drops.
Every Thursday evening from May to September, Gluten Gone Goodies pops up at the Ripon Farmers’ Market. The market runs from 5-8 PM and is a fundraiser for “Garden Joy,” Ripon’s non-profit community garden.
You can find Gluten Gone Goodies at the Ripon Farmers’ Market this Thursday. I am personally stalking her Instagram and eagerly awaiting her menu for this week!
I hope to see the gluten-free and vegan cosmic brownies this week. How about you?
