When asked what my favorite food is, I answer “popcorn”. I am often told that is “not food”, so after arguing monetarily I change my answer is Veggie Sushi!
I’m not sure what it is about the combination of rice, seaweed and vegetables that makes my mouth water, but I can never turn it down. Hoki has an INCREDIBLE Vegan Roll that is filled with Tempura (fried) Vegetables, and topped with Avocado and Cilantro!
Tempura is traditionally made without egg or dairy, unlike other batters. Ask any Japanese restaurant you visit if they make their Vegetable Tempura with dairy or egg, and if so, they can easily make it without! (Veggie Hack!)
Pictured you will also see Inari Nigiri which is a sweet fried tofu pocket, filled with sushi rice. Inari is also the name of a Japanese Mythological God, who protects rice cultivation! Fitting name indeed!
While these are my go-tos from this newer Sushi Restaurant, there are a few other menu items that I can’t wait to try, including the “Golden Green“ Roll with Avocado, Mango and Asparagus!
If you’re remaining socially distant, they deliver via DoorDash!
