Pilates Brunch Club
This weekend I attended my second Pilates Brunch Club of the year. It was held at Blaker Brewing in Ceres, California, just behind my old high school! 2022’s PBC includes vegan options for brunch and alcohol-free beverages if that’s your jam. I opted for beer, as Blaker has many vegan-friendly brew options and I arrived ready to party!
After checking in, we grabbed our pink insulated cups and filled them with locally made beer, fresh from the tap. First stop is always the Posh Booth because we want our photos taken prior to sweating the alcohol out of us. There was time to shop a bit before class started, so I visited the vendor booths to learn more about their offerings and spend all my money. I found the cutest pre-planted pothos from Eme’s Succulents, a 100% soy wax candle from 464 Candles, a cruelty-free and vegan mud mask from 4Life, and some kitschy earrings from Mira’s. I even stopped by Bella Vagos’ Braid Bar and had my hair twisted up before pilates. The braid bar is complimentary, and a staple at every PBC!
Our instructor Stephannie warmed us up and cooled us down with some yoga, and Sonia worked us out during pilates on our mats. I love how fun Studio V’s team keeps the workouts, and even works in our pink souvenir cups as props. Try warrior pose with a cup full of liquid and see if YOU spill! (I didn’t, but I did make a mess with beer earlier in the morning. If you know me personally, that is pretty on-brand.) By the time class was over I was ready to Shavasana the day away, but it was time for brunch!
Chef Melissa from Sage Eats catered box brunch for all the babes, complete with vegan options. My box had a variety of almonds, strawberries, banana bread muffins, and coconut chia seed pudding. The pudding was subtly sweet and topped with toasted coconut and sliced strawberries. My muffins were soft and moist, with the perfect touch of savory and sweet.
