On a Manic Monday I seek comfort, and food has clearly always been a source of that for me.
Fresh baked bread might sound like a strange comfort food choice, but for me, tearing into a crunchy loaf to reveal a soft and fluffy center, provides a state of fulfillment beyond that of standard satiation. 🍞
I was so pleased when a follower reached out to me to suggest I try homemade bread by Bread by Sugar! She bakes her bread for the love of the craft, and it sells out rather quickly! Not all of the breads and spreads she sells are vegan-friendly, but a majority of the choices are!
The Classic “OG”, Rosemary & Herb, and Artichoke and Garlic are the three loaves I had delivered to enjoy.
The Classic bread may have been my favorite of the three, as it had a slightly sweet and salty finish. We used The Classic as a base for bruschetta; topped with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, basil, cherry tomatoes, and Follow Your Heart dairy-free Parmesan.
The Artichoke Garlic was definitely a close second for myself, but was the household favorite. It made the perfect base for a simple avocado toast! I’m not sure if I’d tried artichoke bread before this, but I am a fan!
The Rosemary and Herb bread has the strongest stand alone flavor, and was great as toast, and later as croutons. I topped my Rosemary and Herb toast with Miyokos Creamery Garlic and Parm butter.
Each bread is delicious on its own, fresh out of the oven but I had fun preparing and eating them in different ways! I still think I may prefer my bread freshly torn into fistfuls, but that wouldn’t have photographed as well!
