The first Munchables lunch kit I tried was the Plant-Based Pepperoni Pizza. Each kit includes; 2 pizza crusts, one sauce pack, shredded dairy-free cheese, and 4 slices of plant-based pepperoni. The crust appears fluffier than the leading brand’s and is made of a whole wheat flour blend. The sauce is sweet and a perfect dupe for the kit I remember. The vegan mozzarella is shredded super finely with a mild mozzarella flavor, and the plant-based pepperoni has a kick of spice but is mild enough for child palates This is a plant-based alternative to the lunch kit we craved as kids, designed for a new generation!

I was most excited about the Plant-Based Ham & Cheese and Plant-Based Turkey & Cheese Munchables. I like the idea of having an easy munch option as an adult. A prepared vegan charcuterie for one is essentially what these are for me (just add fruit)! In each of these kits are; 6 salted crackers (like an organic Ritz cracker), 6 slices of plant-based ham or turkey, and 6 slices of American-style or mozzarella-style vegan cheese. I would say the cheeses taste similar to one another, but the turkey has a more mild flavor than the ham. The plant-based ham has an added smoky and salty flavor. My favorite overall is the Plant-Based Turkey & Cheese Munchables!

The three Mighty Yum™ Plant-Based Puffed Rice Protein Bar flavors are; Original (vanilla), Strawberry Cupcake, and Wild Blueberry. My favorite of the three is Strawberry Cupcake, and I don’t think it’s because it comes in a pink box, but very well could be. These are not an exact dupe for Rice Krispies Treats but are a delicious alternative to traditional protein bars. The texture is dense and is without the familiar airy crunch, but the flavor is a perfect match for marshmallow cereal bars. The Strawberry Cupcake bar smells and tastes like strawberry, and is laden with vegan rainbow sprinkles. I think the Strawberry Cupcake bar’s texture is the closest to a marshmallow cereal bar, whereas the Wild Blueberry is more like a granola bar texture, and the Original is similar to a solid protein bar. All are delicious, school safe, and make for the perfect pairing with Muchables lunch kits! I also love that they have correlating animal mascots, making it an easy grab-and-go lunch situation for parents and millennials alike.
