May’s Snack Box included the following: Bakery on Main Ancient Grain Granola, Smolbol Peanut & Cassava Snack, Spicyish Green Mustache Munchies, “Nacho Vibes” Hippeas, Tropicus exotic chip mix, Chocolate Chip REAL Best Healthy Cookies on Earth, Vegums vegan gummy multivitamins, a red-blend non-alcoholic wine by Gruvi, Tomato Basil Proper Good Soup, Pure Food by Estee Salted Caramel Coffee Bites, and a Chamberlain Coffee Steeped Coffee Bag.
I give a short review of each product below:
Green Mustache Mustache Munchies– Spicyish Plant-Based “Cheese” Crackers (gluten-free)
“Spicyish” is an understatement. These tiny mustaches are packin’ heat! They are like fiery hot cheese nips. I really enjoyed these, but the heat may be too much for me. I am definitely looking to try their other flavors because the cheese cracker is on point! (plus they are just so cute!)
Hippeas Organic Chickpea Snacks– Nacho Vibes (gluten-free)
I am always excited to see Hippeas! I am forever a fan of Hippeas because they were the first vegan cheeto alternative I found that was fairly close to the original. They can easily be found pretty much anywhere too, even Starbucks usually has them in stock! As for “Nacho Vibes”, I definitely get a nacho flavor from the puffs, as they are cheesy but still have corn chip undertones.
Tropicus– Exotic Mix: Cassava, Parsnip, and Beet Chips (gluten-free)
A potato chip alternative made sustainably! While the beet and parsnip chips have a hint of sweetness, overall this is a salty snack that isn’t lacking. They make for a tasty chip mix that I would happily eat in place of Lay’s and definitely feel better about doing so.
Bakery on Main– Ancient Grain Crunchy Cluster Cranberry Almond Maple Granola (gluten-free)
This bag is too small for the amount of this I am willing to eat! I love the multigrain & bean crips that are like little corn flakes. The surprising mixture of puffs, flakes, dried fruit, nuts, and seeds makes for a satisfying and delicious snack that is sweet with subtle savory notes. I ate it on its own, but I bet it would make a grand parfait!
Smolbol– Peanut and Cassava Snack (gluten-free)
A favorite of Brazil, Smolbol is a snack that is incomparable to anything I’ve tried. They feel like peanuts in a shell. When popped in my mouth, I tasted a salty and crunchy cassava coating that is like a salted cracker, then found a peanut in the center. They are different, but addicting!
REAL Best Healthy Cookie on Earth– Chocolate Chip (gluten-free, grain-free)
When I opened the package, I was surprised to find two intact and beautifully baked cookies. Melty chocolate chips within a soft and chewy grain-free cookie, they are perfectly paired with plant-based milk.
Vegums– Vegan Multivitamins (gluten-free)
I was so excited to find these in the box! Strawberry flavored, bear-shaped vegan gummies that are undercover multivitamins? Color me stoked! Two packs were included for a full month’s supply and I foresee myself ordering more in the near future. They are sweet, tangy, chewy, and juicy. Vegums has a number of vegan gummy vitamins, so I will be sure to try the others!
Gruvi– Dry Red Blend (gluten-free)
Non-alcoholic beverages are trending right now, so this was a fun inclusion to discover! Gruvi makes a variety of non-alcoholic drinks (including beer!) and this Dry Red-Blend was made in tandem with consumers to ensure it was “just right”. I find it has more of a berry flavor than the red wines I’ve tasted, but it includes a bold finish that is reminiscent of them all. Overall I could definitely mistake this for an alcoholic wine based on flavor alone and can picture this on menus across our downtown.
Pure Food by Estee– Salted Caramel Coffee Bites (gluten-free)
Granola bites with a kick of caffeine! These have an immediate strong caramel flavor and are chewy and crunchy like granola bars. While they contain caffeine from coffee, they do not at all taste like it. I would love to find the other flavors to try, as these are tasty!
Chamberlain Coffee – Night Owl Steeped Coffee Bag
I love coffee! I do not believe I have tried a steeped coffee bag before, so I was unsure what to expect as far as flavor and boldness go. After waiting the full 5 minutes for the coffee to steep, I tasted it black with no added creamer for the full taste experience. I prefer medium and dark roast coffees, so the Night Owl Dark Roast was the perfect fit. Chamberlain describes the coffee as creamy and rich which is 100% on point. The creamy notes of the coffee seem to combat the bitterness as it was not at all bitter and did not taste overly acidic. These coffee bags would be perfect for on the go if you are an avid coffee drinker, as you can toss the individual satchels in your bag. These can even make cold brew, so you’re set so long as you have access to clean drinking water.
Proper Good Soup– Tomato Basil (gluten-free)
This soup is seriously “proper good”! It is well seasoned, with garlic and onion, creamy, and even a little chunky. It’s a well-balanced tomato soup, that is not too tomatoey- as they can sometimes be. Proper Good soups can even be prepared in their pouch, as all you need is a pot of boiling water! Proper Good will be donating one of their meals to those in need with the sharing of this post. Anytime you share their product on social media and tag them, they donate to a community in need! How “good” is that?!
Thank you so much Vegan Cuts! This was a great box that leaves me so anticipating June’s!
What looks most intriguing to you? I think my favorite product this month is the Vegums Gummy Multivitamins, but the Bakery on Main Granola is a close second!
