How do you Ranch?! It has been so long since I’ve had a ranch habit that I had forgotten it is “America’s Favorite Dressing”. Ranch is used as a go-to condiment on everything from salads to hot wings. A big brand has a vegan version of this product on the market, and we finally have access to it in our area: Hidden Valley’s Plant Powered Ranch.
Hidden Valley is the go-to ranch in most American households. My family has a ranch addiction, and if you do too, you know that not just any ranch will cut it. My nephew has been an avid Hidden Valley Ranch consumer since he was a child. With his newest interest in making the transition to plant-based, I am so thrilled to have this brand on our side. I tasted the ranch not knowing what to expect, and it truly tastes like the Hidden Valley Ranch I remember. It must be their seasoning blend that makes them stand out from the rest. Lightly sweet, and tangy with hints of garlic and smokiness, it is a flavor combination that is unmistakable.
Founded in 1954, Hidden Valley is farmed in California’s very own Santa Barbara. When I found out Hidden Valley was releasing a dairy-free and egg-free, “plant powered” ranch, I began to scour our local stores to announce its arrival. The first location I found to carry it in our area is Walmart (which will be featured over several posts as they are proving to up their vegan-friendly product selection). I have vivid memories of a Hidden Valley Ranch commercial with a carnival of sorts, and the artisans were handing out crowns of broccoli rather than cotton candy. While I do not stand for that sort of blasphemy, I will stand for this vegan ranch!
I will ask again, as I am looking for recommendations, how do you ranch?
Also, happy Friday! I didn’t mean to take a week off from posting, but sometimes depression just works that way.
