While we may be familiar with the brand for their carrots or ready to drink, plant-based beverages, a new line of plant-based dressings have just been released by Bolthouse Farms. I was lucky to get my hands on two of the four new flavors, and can’t wait to share!
Bolthouse Farms began by farming carrots in Michigan, in 1915. Fast-forward to today, and the company has extended its farming to our very own Central Valley, California. Over the years, Bolthouse Farms expanded their product line to include; juices, protein and coffee drinks, and their most popular to-date: dips and dressings. Something I appreciate about Bolthouse Farms, is their commitment to using every part, of every carrot they farm. Their carrots are produced for us to consume whole, cut, juiced, and even in their dressings!
Pictured you will see their new plant-based dressing featuring their famous carrots: Carrot Miso. I use this dressing for Buddha bowls (as pictured) and as a dipping sauce for my veggie pot-stickers/dumplings. The Carrot Miso dressing is a combination of nutty miso, sweet carrot, salty soy, and ginger and vinegar for added kick and zing. It delivers a sweet and smoky flavor that is unmatched, for a twist on typical dressings. I think this would also make a great marinade for tofu, and look forward to trying it on some BBQ’d tofu and vegetable kabobs, come warmer weather.
Are you a ranch person? Statistically, ranch is the most popular salad dressing in the United States. I gave up my taste for ranch back when I went vegan, as there were not any comparable substitutes on the market. Luckily things are drastically different today, and we have several ranch varieties that are dairy-free and vegan on the shelves of traditional grocery stores everywhere. Any ranch aficionado will tell you however, no two ranches are alike, and this doesn’t stop at plant-based varieties. Bolthouse Farms just released my new favorite ranch dressing for dipping, “Garden Ranch”. Garden Ranch is soy-free, made with sunflower butter and oats for traditional ranch creaminess, and packed with vegetables, citrus, and spices. I like to use my ranch for dipping, as pictured with my cauliflower tempura and veggie plate, but it would be great on a side salad or with anything you typically eat with ranch (for me, that’s usually pizza).
I found my Bolthouse Farms Plant-Based Dressings at Sprouts, but they should be popping up at Target and chain grocery stores soon. There are two additional vegan-friendly dressings I have yet to try: Habanero Blue and Green Goddess. I look forward to trying these two as well, once I find them. I am all about the ease and convenience of a ready-made dressing and dip!
Do you prefer a decadent and creamy salad dressing, or a light and tangy vinaigrette?
