he countdown has officially begun for Christmas!

My mother used to buy chocolate advent calendars for my siblings and I growing up. When I went vegan she was pretty disheartened at how few varieties of vegan-friendly advent calendars existed. The only vegan advent calendars were overseas, and the shipping cost more than most things on my wishlist! As years went by, companies began releasing non-candy advent calendars, like socks and cosmetic items. As exciting as it was to partake in the tradition again, it still wasn’t candy.

In 2019, my mother handed me a dark chocolate advent calendar she found at one of her favortie stores for stocking stuffers- Cost Plus World Market. She was as excited to give me that chocolate calendar, as I was to receive it. FINALLY, I could once again indulge in a daily treat hidden behind a paper door, just like when I was a kid.

Made from fairtrade cocoa grown in Ghana, 100% pure cocoa butter, and no palm oil, this chocolate is not only dairy-free and vegan but ethically sourced as well. Maybe I am making up for lost time, or maybe you are just as nostalgic and sentimental about the holidays as I am, and are about to snag one of these advent calendars before season’s end!
