Garfield goes vegan!
…well he would, because ‘Sunday Supper‘ is dishing up vegan versions of Italian favorites like Lasagna, Mozzarella Sticks, Eggplant Parm and more. With traditional Sunday family dinners taking all day to prepare, Sunday Supper gives you, your time back, without sacrificing flavor, with frozen meals that are fully vegan, and non-GMO. Founded by Richard Klein after wowing enough non-vegans with his lasagna, he knows what sets these dishes apart is taste. Sunday Supper partners with award-winning chefs to master just that, and I can attest that in the taste category, they’re unmatched.
I was sent a few frozen Sunday Supper favorites to try including their vegan Three Cheese Lasagna, Italian Sausage Lasagna made with Abbot’s “Ground Beef”, Fusi alla Vodka made with Elmhurst plant-milk, and Mozza Fritto (fried mozzarella sticks). All of my dishes were portioned for one, but I love Sunday Supper offers some of their dishes like the lasagnas, in family-sizes as-well!
The first win is that the pasta in all of Sunday Supper dishes is perfectly ‘al dente’ after heating in the oven, unlike other frozen dishes where the pasta ends up gummy and chewy. Next is the flavorful and layered flavor in their sauce. The Fusi alla Vodka sauce is thick, rich and creamy, with warm, nutty, and peppery flavor notes. The Three Cheese Lasagna is ooey-gooey, and the cheese is melty and creamy. There is an abundance of texture from creamy cheese, to tender noodles, chopped onion, carrot, tomato and leafy oregano, really making this feel and taste homemade. The Mozza Fritto sticks were cooked til just bubbling in the air fryer. They have a thin and crispy outer shell, filled with gooey, melty cheese that is salty, buttery, and complimented perfectly when dipped in the vodka sauce. Prior to posting I tried all but the Italian Sausage Lasagna, but am looking forward to serving that to myself off-camera soon. Looking for the ingredients? Head to the bottom of this post.1
Sunday Supper is currently available online, and in storefronts in So-Cal and on the East Coast. However, I am sure we will soon see these popping up in stores like Sprouts nationwide. I received mine in the mail, and definitely plan to make an online order soon because I HAVE TO TRY the Sunday Supper Eggplant Parmesan.
Have you had a chance to enjoy Sunday Supper? What’s first on your ‘to-try’ list?
