The Farmacy is Modesto’s only fully Gluten-Free and Vegan restaurant. Their menu is completely whole-food, plant-based and everything is delicious! They recently added a weekend brunch, and I just had to try it out.

On Saturday’s The Farmacy features brunch specials on their menu! You’ll find French Toast, Pancakes (traditional, cinnamon roll, or chocolate chip), Build Your Own Breakfast Scrambles (with choice of tofu or plant-based egg), Biscuits and Gravy, fancy toasts, chia puddings, and more!

Since it was blue moon weekend (Google it if you don’t know!), I started my order with a Blue Moon Latte. Made from a base of your choice of plant milk (I chose oat), ashwagandha powder, butterfly pea flower, vanilla, maple, and chamomile, this is a nice and mellow start to the morning. For brunch, I treated myself to a stack of traditional pancakes and spicy biscuits and gravy. The pancakes were exceptionally fluffy and light, making the perfect base to soak up vegan butter and maple syrup. My favorite of the lot, however, were the biscuits and gravy. Buttery and crumbly biscuits are served smothered in savory and spicy gravy, that’s surprisingly made with tofu. The spice level was mild enough that I’d definitely order again, and the gravy is cravable. Next time I think I want to try the B.E.L.T sandwich; gluten-free everything roll, smoked tempeh, vegan scrambled eggs, and the works. It will be hard to pass up the biscuits and gravy though!

The Farmacy opened mid-pandemic last year, but with no waiver in support from our veg and plant-curious community! Its success moved the restaurant to its new and permanent location, a few spaces down on the same block. This location is still under renovation, so outdoor seating, delivery, and pick-up are the current dining options available. The Farmacy is open Wednesday-Friday 9am-4pm, and for brunch on Saturday 9am-1pm. You can use the delivery app ToastTab to place orders for delivery and pickup, and even earn rewards you can use on your future orders!
