Impossible Vegan Corn Dogs are finally here!
Impossible Foods launched their first product in 2010 (the first iteration of their burger). They’ve been adding plant-based versions of American classics to their line-up, including chicken nuggets and hot dogs. The newest fan-favorite to hit retailers is the Impossible Corn Dogs. Despite launching in 2024, many have been unable to find the corn dogs in retailers. I saw them IRL at Expo West this year, and am happy to report they are officially available in my area.
Understanding that “everyone loves meat because it’s so delicious, not because of where it comes from“, Impossible Foods founded with the mission to make tasty products that are good for you, and better for the planet. Using two bioengineered ingredients- soy leghemoglobin and soy protein– Impossible can replicate the taste of meat using yeast fermented with soy. The taste is approved by vegans and meat-eaters alike, making trying veg meatier than ever. To encourage eating more plant-based or simply enjoying meatless meals once a week, Impossible has an impact calculator on their website. This calculator shows, on average, how much water, land for agriculture, and your carbon footprint are reduced when swapping between just 1-7 meals a week with something animal-free.
Impossible Corn Dogs make swapping a meal for plant-based, simple, and tasty. Whether feeding yourself or a little one, Impossible Corn Dogs are a vegan alternative everyone can enjoy, no carnival visit required. The frozen corn dogs are ready in under 30 minutes in the oven, or if you’re pressed for time, just minutes in the microwave. When served hot, the golden batter is crisp and slightly sweet, revealing fluffy innards and a plump, juicy hot dog. The sticks, when sucked clean, reveal fun phrases like “RIP Corn Dog, You Were Delicious” and “Home is Where the Corn Dogs Are”. (For the ingredients list, scroll to the end of this post)
Although the location tracker on Impossible’s website says the corn dogs are not yet in our area, I found them at the Save Mart off Oakdale Rd. in Modesto. I love what Impossible is doing for the plant-based market. It can be said that Impossible products are not actually for vegans; they’re for those looking to make the switch or reduce their animal intake. While I believe this is true, I am thankful for things like these corn dogs and the Impossible Whopper at Burger King, as they make plant-based accessible and familiar. Plus, sometimes a girl just needs a corn dog!
