Vegan Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes? Solstice Sweets is dishing up vegan versions of these classic snack cakes and more.
While Little Debbie launched their tree cakes in 1985, Solstice Sweets began sharing their treats with the public in 2021. Solstice Sweets is comprised of a mother-daughter team, Leesa and Talia, and was born from Talia’s desire to make classic “after-school treats” vegan. They’re a small family-owned and operated business based out of Colorado, but offer nationwide shipping.
When I saw Solstice Sweets had vegan Christmas Tree Cakes, I was locked in. I never thought to wish for this nostalgic treat to come in a vegan form, but I am so glad someone else did! From the first bite, I could have cried. The merry flavors are an instant transport to childhood and spare no detail in presentation. Soft and fluffy yellow cake is layered with vanilla frosting, coated in vegan white chocolate, and topped with the iconic red chocolate stripes and green sprinkles. While the price point of one of these cakes is around $6, the treats are much larger than their traditional counterpart, plus they are organic!
Aside from limited holiday treats like Christmas Tree Cakes and even vegan Candy Corn, Solstice Sweets offers a range of year-round vegan sweets, including Zebra Cakes, Peanut Buddies, and Oatmeal Dream Pies (cookie sandwiches). In addition to the Tree Cakes, I ordered a Gingerbread Person and some vegan Zebra Cakes. The flavor profile of the Zebra Cake is similar to the Christmas Tree Cake, but nothing beats the tree shape! This is also the time of year I am reminded that I LOVE gingerbread. This cookie is crispy yet melty and more sweet than spicy.
Solstice Sweets is currently offering a “Holiday Treat Box” for just $24, and in it, you receive 1 White Christmas Tree Cake, 1 Chocolate Christmas Tree Cake (WHAT? I NEED THIS), 1 Gingerbread Person, and 1 Sugar Cookie Christmas Tree. These treats make THE perfect gift! Whether you’re shopping for the vegan in your life who has everything, a foodie, or you’re just not sure what to get them, these small-batch organic creations will be a hit. Also, no, I am not sponsored. I am just absolutely obsessed with Solstice Sweets and am so happy to have found them!
I ordered directly from SolsticeSweets.com and received free shipping on my $50+ order with code FREESHIP. They ship on the early side of the week to avoid weekend delays, and both orders I placed arrived within 2-3 days of being shipped. Since it’s so cold out, I didn’t worry about temp control, but at any other time of year, I’d suggest adding the ice packs to your order. Holiday Orders close on 12/18, and it is suggested that you order by 12/16 if you are looking for treats to arrive before Christmas. If you are in Colorado, you can find Solstice Sweets at local pop-ups and even enjoy free local pick-up for your orders.
I am so stoked I found Solstice Sweets and can’t wait to see what creations they launch next! Is there a childhood favorite you’ve been missing?
