Trick or Treat? This Halloween, I opted for the ‘treat’ and picked up some from Killer Sweets to celebrate!

Killer Sweets is a home bakery in Stanislaus County that offers devilishly delicious baked treats and specializes in gluten-free and vegan desserts. While not everything they serve is vegan, there are always some options on their seasonal menu, which rotates monthly. Additionally, Killer Sweets treats can be found stocked in two of our local cafes in Modesto: Preservation Coffee & Tea and Caffettino (Located inside Cornucopia Natural Foods).

Killer Sweets was founded in 2019 by “wonder twins” Sam and Val. After working in a cafe together, both with pastry backgrounds, the two combined their passions to develop Killer Sweets. “Killer Sweets is the theme because of their undying love for all things ghoulish, murder mysteries, and just the sweet stuff. Who doesn’t love watching a slasher and eating the most delicious chocolate chip cookie?” I’m in!

Today’s treats include an assortment from Killer Sweets’ October Menu: Gluten-Free/Vegan “Scarrot Cake” a moist and spiced carrot cake with fluffy vegan cream cheese frosting and delicate vegan cream cheese ghosties, GF/V Pumpkin Chai Muffin that is moist and spiced for the season, GF/V Double Chocolate Muffin with a spidey ring that’s decadent and soft, GF/V “Ghoul-fetti” Cookie that’s buttery and melty and topped with a worm candy, and GF/V Iced Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookie that’s chewy, spiced, and lightly sweet.
