The first-ever vegan spray cheese is finally here, thanks to Credo Foods.

“Credo” means “a statement of the beliefs (or aims) that guide someone’s actions.” For Credo Foods, that means reintroducing everyone to the deliciousness of plant-based foods in an attempt to do better for our health, the planet, and animals. They’re doing this with vegan cheese in the form of queso, alfredo, dips, and now spray cheese in a can!

Spray cheese, Cheese Whiz, Easy Cheeze, whatever you call it- it’s nostalgia in a can, and it’s only fair we have a dairy-free version to enjoy. Nabisco first introduced “Easy Cheese” in 1965 as “Snack Mate” with slogan, “Instant cheese for instant parties.” I can definitely see myself adding this added to future cheese plates with fancy crackers as an easy app, but for now, I am enjoying all the ways I can dream up uses for Credo’s Oat Milk Cheeze in Original Cheddar and Smoky Cheddar.

I paired my Credo vegan spray cheese with crackers, soft pretzels, and fries! Now, when I say, “Whatever, I’m getting cheese fries,” I’ll mean it! The Original Cheddar tastes exactly like the spray cheese I remember. It’s a whipped and creamy texture that’s rich and salty, with notes of sour. The Smoky is just that—a smoky flavor atop the original that I might actually prefer. Whether spraying straight into your mouth or with a vessel topped or dipped, Credo’s Oat Milk Spray Cheeze hits every mark.

I was hooked on spray cheese as a kid, and having a vegan version isn’t something I ever dreamed of coming to fruition. Credo’s Oat Milk Cheeze is a new favorite of mine, and I can’t wait to share it with any and everyone. While Whole Foods is the closest store to me carrying Credo Foods, their products are available online at CredoFoods.com. I am eyeing their Alfredo Rosa next, and yes it’s because it’s pink!
