Tyson brand chicken was born from the Great Depression’s forced innovation circa 1935. With plant-based consumption on the rise and chicken production slowly decreasing, Tyson has tossed new plant-based nuggets into the vegan chicken market.

I fashioned my Tyson Original and Spicy Plant-Based Nuggets into a bouquet both for funsies and for a twist on a Mother’s Day classic. When eating, I paired with fries and dipped the original nuggets in ketchup and the spicy in dairy-free ranch. My favorite is definitely the original, and it may even be my new favorite vegan nugget!

The nuggets bring back memories of those served in my school cafeteria. The texture is spongey and tender, and the flavor is lightly seasoned without being too salty. The spicy variety is tasty, and the heat level is palatable for even my wimpy tastebuds. Both are made of 100% plant-based ingredients and offer 11 grams of protein per serving of 4 nuggets. I list the ingredients for both at the bottom of this post.

I found both varieties of Tyson’s Plant-Based Nuggets at my local Target, and I will definitely be purchasing the Original Tyson Plant-Based Nuggets again. I love when big brands go vegan! I can’t wait to see what more Tyson offers us in the future, as I am sure this isn’t the end of their plant-based offerings.
