LOVO Plant Based Chocolate “S’mores-gasbord”

LOVO was created by a married duo who specialized in vegan dark chocolate. They noticed the lack of vegan milk chocolate bar alternatives and opted to use their expertise to fill the void. In an article for Forbes, LOVO creators shared, “So many households these days have refrigerators with more than one kind of milk in them, so it makes sense that they could be just as interested in a different kind of milk chocolate”. After much trial and error, the LOVO brand was born.
I first tried LOVO at this year’s EXPO West (a major natural products exposition), where they received VegNews’ “Best in Show” award. LOVO is a new plant-based chocolate bar made in Switzerland, offering a variety of plant-milk flavors. Each bar is a milk-chocolate alternative that plays up the flavor of each plant-milk: Almond Milk, Coconut Milk, Oat Milk, and Hazelnut Milk. LOVO is vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, Rainforest Alliance Certified, and MyClimate Neutral.
LOVO is the first range of vegan chocolate bars offering a variety of plant milk flavors. They’re velvety smooth and ultra-creamy, delivering the experience of milk chocolate with elevated appeal. I wanted to showcase how super creamy this chocolate really is, and thought melting in hot s’mores was the perfect means. I made a “S’mores-gasbord” of the necessities including honey-free graham crackers, vegan chocolate chip cookies, gelatin-free marshmallows, and some fun add-ins like mini vegan marshmallows and sliced strawberries.
If you’re like me and don’t want to go camping, you can make your s’mores in the oven by placing your graham crackers on a baking sheet, topping with a marshmallow, and baking at 450 degrees until your desired level of toasty-ness (2-5 mins + can broil for a char).
I was gifted my box of LOVO bars, but you can find LOVO online for purchase at LOVOChocolate.com or via Amazon. There is MUCH anticipation for LOVO’s release in stores, but I haven’t heard word of local release yet, so online shopping is still your best bet! While this brand is new, it is HOT, so expect to see much more about LOVO in the near future.
