It’s my birthday, and I’ll binge if I want to!
Ok, so yesterday was my birthday, but I think it’s apparent I am someone who celebrates their birthday for an entire week, if not a month. So, get with it.
In true birthday party fashion, I had to pair yesterday’s custom-channeled birthday cake with ice cream. Luckily our local Safeway has the newest flavors of Breyers Non-Dairy Ice Cream stocked, so there’s something for everyone at the table! I picked up Non-Dairy Mint Chocolate Chip, Non-Dairy Chocolate Chip, and Non-Dairy Cookies & Creme (which is not actually a new flavor, but is my nephew’s absolute favorite ice cream).
I am a big fan of the Non-Dairy Mint Chocolate Chip. It has a lightly flavored mint base, with dairy-free chocolate chips. The Non-Dairy Chocolate Chip was surprisingly my favorite of the three. It reminds me of a double chocolate cookie, with the same Dutch cocoa base, and chocolate chips. Breyer’s Non-Dairy Cookies & Creme is a crowd favorite at my house, made of vanilla ice cream and chunks of Oreo-branded cookies. There is something about the frozen Oreo cookie chunks that just surpasses room-temperature Oreos. My favorite Breyer’s Non-Dairy flavor has been harder to find as of late, and therefore is not pictured. The additional non-dairy flavor is Peanut Butter Swirl: vanilla ice cream with swirls and small chunks of PB!
I love that there is a larger-sized vegan-friendly ice cream in stores, especially in traditional flavors. I think many supermarkets tend to stock “fun” flavors of vegan ice cream, which is nice, but I think we can all agree that these traditional flavors have been around for a long time for a reason. Ergo, having them accessible to us no matter our dietary needs, is a treat!
Have you tried Breyer’s Almond Milk Ice Cream? Have you seen the PB flavor locally? Lemme know!
