Yesterday was my birthday! Yep, I’m an Aries.

To celebrate, we ate locally for dinner and I ordered a gluten-free and vegan birthday cake from Boho Buttercream. When I placed my order I asked for a vegan and pink cake, but left the design and flavor combo up to Boho Buttercream’s chef Anya.

I was surprised with a beautifully decorated and damask-printed pink cake, dusted with edible glitter and gold leaf, and a kaleidoscope of golden butterflies. The cake is stunning and immediately reminded me of Dolly Parton. When I sliced into the cake I had no idea what to expect and was greeted with a sweet chocolate cake with either chocolate chips or chocolate shavings, and whipped vanilla buttercream filling that offers a tinge of Hostess cupcake nostalgia. When I told her how much I loved the design she shared that she “wanted it to reflect your bright happy nature”.

I found this cake to be absolutely fitting and delicious. On this date 13 years ago I received my first tattoo, which just so happens to be a butterfly.
