Have you visited Klean Eatz Market and Cafe? Located mere minutes off Highway 99, a fully “clean” grocery and cafe are located in Ripon, CA. Decked in farmhouse charm, thriving plants, and chalkboard signs, the decor of both the market and cafe is detailed and charming.

Klean Eatz Market opened during the midst of the pandemic, in November 2020 showcasing local vendors, fresh produce, and daily made sourdough bread. Their grocery shelves are packed with organic dry goods, local dairy and vegan alternatives, bulk spices, and new locally sourced products. They even offer printed recipe cards for meal ideas, with ingredients you can buy in-store! I made the Vegan Curry Stuffed Peppers, and will be making them again.

The cafe menu features breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, and brick oven pizza. Open Tuesday-Saturday from 8am-3pm, Klean Eatz Cafe is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, or brunch! Without modifications, vegans can order the: Tofu Scramble, Vegan French Toast, Chia Pudding Parfait, Veggie Sandwich, and Buddha Bowl. There is at least one vegan option per section on the menu, and any brick oven pizzas can be made with vegan cheese, as their in-house sourdough crust is vegan-friendly.

I tried the Vegan French Toast with fresh fruit, and the addition of fried potatoes. I also ordered the Brick Oven Pizza with vegan cheese and mushrooms to take home for later. I am all about easy “meal prepping” if you catch my drift. The french toast was made with their in-house sourdough bread and smothered in pure maple syrup. Not overly sweet, the french toast had a perfect crunch that soaked up syrup for a perfect bite. The slices were so large, I ended up saving some of this dish for home as well. The pizza crust was crispy, the sauce flavorful, and the vegan cheese melted amazingly. I even purchased a mound of their fresh-made sourdough pizza dough to recreate my pizza, on another day.

After “brunch” we perused the market and took home some fresh sourdough. It was a nice mid-day outing, and definitely worth the trip. Have you tried Klean Eatz sourdough bread or sourdough pizza crust? It is UNMATCHED.
