“Bon Appetit!” -Chef “Mexican Food! My favorite!” -Donkey

I love Shrek 2! I also love Mexican food, JUST like Donkey! Thank goodness there is a a vegan menu available at Cocina Michoacana Oakdale It’s my first time talking about a restaurant from Oakdale, and I knew it had to be this one!

From standard tacos and fajitas, to specials like tortas and flautas, this is one of the most creative vegan Mexican food menus I’ve had the pleasure of ordering from.

Regardless of how many times I come back, I have to eat the flautas. I just am obsessed with that potato-filled tortilla roll-up! When topped with salsa verde and guacamole, it’s the perfect combination of citrus and salt. This is the first item you’ll see plated, along with Spanish rice and vegan-friendly refried beans.

I tried their superior tacos as well, which you have the choice of filling with; veggies, beans, or guacamole. The produce they use is so fresh, you can taste the difference!

Lastly is the bean dip, which I cannot stress enough, you HAVE to order. You have the option of topping your dip with dairy-free sour cream and cheese, which I had to take advantage of. What is it about bean dip that is so satisfying?! TELL ME!!

Next time I think I’ll have to try the torta and maybe the sopes. Should that be today?

It’s football Sunday and Cocina Michocana is open for patio dining, and curbside pick-up! Get your game on with a gigantic bag of chips and 32 oz tub of salsa for just $15, when you call and place your order for pick-up! No reason you can’t celebrate like it’s the Super Bowl! We’ve been waiting long enough for the season to start!
