Yesterday I was privileged to stop by the Cultivate Modesto and Farmacy pop-up, held on the patio of The Century Center.
Cultivate is a pop-up urban greenhouse here in the Central Valley, and I was one of the lucky winners selected for their Insta Plant Giveaway!
First up is The Farmacy’s “Lavender Lemonade” that I instantly described as “delightful”. It was not overly sour or sweet, which I imagine is carefully balanced by the lavender infusion. If you wanna have a really good time, their lemonade can be spiked with Gin, Tequila or Vodka!
My lunch entree was their NEW “Spud-tacular Nachos”. Housemade tortilla chips are topped with a quinoa-walnut “chorizo”, black and garbanzo beans, pickled carrots and jalapeno, and a variety of veggies. The non-dairy Queso is made with potatoes and served on the side. You can get an extra serving for just $1! These may be the spiciest vegan nachos I have had to date. So FYI if you are a wuss like me when it comes to heat, although it is definitely tolerable since the dish is so tasty!
Lastly, I grabbed an afternoon snack for me, and one for a dog bestie since it has been so hot! I had the “Chocolate Cranberry Goji Energy Bar”. The energy bar is made with a mix of walnuts, almonds, dates, goji berries, cranberries, spirulina, and cacao nibs. It definitely hits the spot, and the mix of cacao, dates, and berries make the bar a sweet treat. The snack I got for my pooch pal is called “Harlow’s Doggie Smoothie”. The dog smoothie is a concoction of; kale, banana, chia seeds, hemp protein powder, and peanut butter! The smoothie was a hit, making the lunch a win for for me and my furry friend on a Friday! I love when plant-based establishments are also pet friendly!
The Farmacy is open again on Tuesday afternoon, so stop by for pick-up, or eat on the patio with your pup! You can order online at their website; downtownfarmacy.com, GrubHub, DoorDash, ToastTab, and Postmates.
